Details Regarding Financial Assistance

Couples may be eligible to receive 250,000 rupees through the Dr. Ambedkar Scheme, which promotes social integration through inter-caste marriages.

Key Eligibility Criteria

One partner must belong to a Scheduled Caste.

The other partner must be from a Non-Scheduled Caste.

The marriage must be legally registered under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955.

Only first marriages are eligible for this assistance. Subsequent marriages are not eligible.

Special exhibits are dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar’s wife Ramabai and the Indian Constitution, further enhanced by interactive digital displays offering insights into his life and work.

The required documents for the Dr. Ambedkar Inter Caste Marriage Scheme are as follows: Personal documents include Aadhar cards, passport-size photographs, caste certificates, income certificates, and proof of residence (electricity bill, ration card, or electoral card) for both spouses, as well as school leaving certificates.

Marriage-related documents include a legally registered marriage certificate under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, a declaration that this is the first marriage for both partners, and certificates confirming that one spouse is from a Scheduled Caste and the other is from a non-Scheduled Caste.

Additional conditional documents may include proof of divorce or death if previously married or widowed, and a copy of the first page of a bank passbook or cancelled cheque.

All documents must be submitted within one year of marriage and should be in Hindi or English. Final approval rests with the Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment.
